Process Options for Lead- Zinc Ore Having Interfering Gangue Minerals

For lead zinc ores having interfering gangue minerals such as graphite/mica there are three main process options: viz (a) depression of graphite/ mica while floating galena (b) co floatation (bulk flotation) of graphite and galena followed by galena depression while floating graphite (c) pre flotation of graphite followed by galena flotation. It is observed that pre flotation of readily floatable graphite (large size, flaky) followed by galena flotation using low dose of graphite depressant for depress slow floating graphite (amorphous/ inadvertently fined ground) using xanthate collector gives better grade and recovery of lead into lead concentrate. ** May see the attachment below for full article.
